Sigal Mandelker is an American lawyer and former government official. She was born on November 18, 1967 in Israel and immigrated to the United States with her family when she was a child. Mandelker graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Mandelker served as the Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence in the United States Department of the Treasury from 2017 to 2019. In this role, she was responsible for developing and implementing policies to combat illicit finance and terrorism financing. Prior to her government service, Mandelker worked as a lawyer in private practice and as a prosecutor at the Department of Justice.
Mandelker has been praised for her work in disrupting terrorist financing networks and for her efforts to combat money laundering and corruption. She has received several awards for her contributions to national security and financial integrity.
In addition to her professional work, Mandelker is involved in various philanthropic organizations and is a strong advocate for women's empowerment and human rights.
